Friends of the BR-SEPAC

The Friends of the BR-SEPAC is the non-profit organization that funds the BR-SEPAC.  The laws are very cumbersome when dealing with schools, money, and organizations.  Then, add in the factor the Bridgewater and Raynham is a regional school, in two different counties.  Therefore, we created the Friends of the BR-SEPAC.  This group has its own board members (just happens to be the same as the BR-SEPAC) and its own by-laws (which are very similar to the BR-SEPAC's). 

The real reason we created this funding organization is so (1) the School District does not manage our funds and (2) we do not need to acquire permission form the school committee every time we want to have a fundraiser.

Non-profit

We are currently in mid-to-end process of obtaining our non-profit status.  We will be a 501c(3) organization.  This means that all funds given to us are deductible to you and tax free for us.

Where do the funds go

All funds that go to the Friends of the BR-SEPAC go to the BR-SEPAC, we are essentially the same organization, just not on "paper".

What are the funds used for

We have a lot of plans to use the funds.  Some include parent education and training (some of the lectures and workshops we host are not free), photocopying, and we want to give it to the children we represent.  We will see....
